# Excellence vs Stix

The clearest difference is rating: Stix at 4.8 against Excellence's 1.0. Stix also leads on ratings volume (93 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). Excellence's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Stix holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stix has 93 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Excellence ships an update every 10 months, Stix every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
