# Map Measure vs GPS Coordinates & Map Tools

The clearest difference is rating: Map Measure at 4.3 against GPS Coordinates & Map Tools's 2.7. Map Measure also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (212 vs 6). GPS Coordinates & Map Tools's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and review sentiment (100% vs 69%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Map Measure sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and GPS Coordinates & Map Tools sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Map Measure holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Measure has 212 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Map Measure's written reviews are positive against 100% of GPS Coordinates & Map Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Map Measure ships an update every 8 days, GPS Coordinates & Map Tools every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
