# polette vs Optica Store

The clearest difference is ads: Optica Store at none against polette's shown. Optica Store also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 74%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). polette's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

polette holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: polette has 103 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of polette's written reviews are positive against 100% of Optica Store's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

polette ships an update every 2 months, Optica Store every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
