# SoundOverlay vs TierDeck

The clearest difference is update cadence: TierDeck at every 5 days against SoundOverlay's monthly. SoundOverlay's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoundOverlay sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and TierDeck sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SoundOverlay ships an update monthly, TierDeck every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
