# Scanner PDF Docs & Images vs VAS

The clearest difference is rating: Scanner PDF Docs & Images at 4.7 against VAS's 3.5. Scanner PDF Docs & Images also leads on ratings volume (217 vs 2). VAS's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanner PDF Docs & Images sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. VAS asks for nothing beyond the download.

Scanner PDF Docs & Images holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scanner PDF Docs & Images has 217 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Scanner PDF Docs & Images's written reviews are positive against 100% of VAS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scanner PDF Docs & Images ships an update every 3 months, VAS fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
