# MtnPOS vs Snag

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MtnPOS at none against Snag's 19. MtnPOS also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Snag's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snag sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. MtnPOS asks for nothing beyond the download.

MtnPOS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snag has 6.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MtnPOS ships an update every 3 weeks, Snag weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
