# UpBoard vs Dune

The clearest difference is price: UpBoard at Free against Dune's $10.99. UpBoard also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Dune's advantage is ratings volume (5K vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

UpBoard is free to download; Dune costs $10.99 up front. Dune sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. UpBoard asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for UpBoard against 4.9 for Dune. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dune has 5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UpBoard ships an update every 3 weeks, Dune every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
