# Civicus vs Narro Reader

The clearest difference is update cadence: Narro Reader at every 10 days against Civicus's every 11 months. Narro Reader also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Civicus ships an update every 11 months, Narro Reader every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
