# Traffic Light Collections vs Alphablocks World

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Traffic Light Collections at 71% against Alphablocks World's 29%. Traffic Light Collections also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Alphablocks World's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 17 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Traffic Light Collections sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Alphablocks World sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alphablocks World holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alphablocks World has 269 ratings behind it against 48, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Traffic Light Collections's written reviews are positive against 29% of Alphablocks World's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Traffic Light Collections ships an update every 17 months, Alphablocks World fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
