# Spectre Camera vs Flixel Flipside

The clearest difference is rating: Spectre Camera at 4.3 against Flixel Flipside's 1.0. Spectre Camera also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.6). Flixel Flipside's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and monetization model (freemium vs paid). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spectre Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flixel Flipside sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spectre Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spectre Camera has 2.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spectre Camera ships an update every 3 months, Flixel Flipside every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
