Identify a watch from a photo with WatchID. OFFICIAL APP WatchID is the original watch identifier, built since 2024 by Horoview SAS in Paris, the team behind the Horoview watch search engine. It is the only official WatchID app: look for the seller name Horoview SAS. Look-alike apps named "Watch ID" are not related to us. Take a clear picture or choose one from your photo library. WatchID analyzes the image and returns the likely brand, model, collection, material, and reference when available. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Identify watches from your camera or photo library • Review likely brand, model, and reference details • Keep a private history of your scans • Browse moderated community scans in Explore • Open matching HOROVIEW listings for further research • Control whether your own scans appear publicly • Learn about WatchID API access for professional teams Watch identification results depend on image quality and available reference data. Always verify important details independently before buying, selling, authenticating, or valuing a watch. FOR PROFESSIONALS WatchID also offers a server-to-server identification service for dealers, marketplaces, auction teams, appraisers, and insurers. Open WatchID for Professionals in the app to review its capabilities and contact our team. WatchID includes three free scans. Additional scans require WatchID Pro, available as auto-renewing weekly, monthly, or annual subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Your subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WatchID at none against Watch Case's 6. WatchID also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.6). Watch Case's advantage is ratings volume (31 vs 8). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Watch Case sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. WatchID asks for nothing beyond the download.
Watch Case holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 31 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Watch Case's written reviews are positive against 73% of WatchID's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Watch Case ships an update every 5 weeks, WatchID weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
