# ReceiptJar vs Grocery Tracker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Grocery Tracker at 100% against ReceiptJar's 23%. ReceiptJar's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grocery Tracker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. ReceiptJar asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceiptJar holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReceiptJar has 66K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of ReceiptJar's written reviews are positive against 100% of Grocery Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
