# Volkano Active vs Cricket Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cricket Journal at every 3 days against Volkano Active's every 2 months. Volkano Active's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Volkano Active ships an update every 2 months, Cricket Journal every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
