# Crait Lite vs Gather IM

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gather IM at every 2 weeks against Crait Lite's every 3 months. Gather IM also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Crait Lite's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gather IM holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crait Lite has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Crait Lite ships an update every 3 months, Gather IM every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
