# Values Discovery vs PESI

The clearest difference is rating: PESI at 4.7 against Values Discovery's 2.5. PESI also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 4). Values Discovery's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 14%) and in-app purchases (none vs 8). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PESI sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Values Discovery asks for nothing beyond the download.

PESI holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PESI has 3.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Values Discovery's written reviews are positive against 14% of PESI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Values Discovery ships an update every 9 months, PESI fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
