# TOR Browser vs Measuring Tape AR.

The clearest difference is monetization model: Measuring Tape AR. at freemium against TOR Browser's subscription. Measuring Tape AR. also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). TOR Browser's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (20K vs 15). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TOR Browser sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Measuring Tape AR. sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TOR Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TOR Browser has 20K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TOR Browser ships an update every 3 weeks, Measuring Tape AR. every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
