# WhatMountain vs MountainFinder

The clearest difference is ads: WhatMountain at none against MountainFinder's shown. MountainFinder's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WhatMountain sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MountainFinder sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WhatMountain ships an update every 2 months, MountainFinder fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
