# Yale Access vs Stoplight Golight

The clearest difference is rating: Yale Access at 4.9 against Stoplight Golight's 3.6. Yale Access also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 21 months) and ratings volume (75K vs 9). Stoplight Golight's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 41%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Yale Access holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yale Access has 75K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Yale Access's written reviews are positive against 83% of Stoplight Golight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yale Access ships an update fortnightly, Stoplight Golight every 21 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
