# Yale Access vs Wynd Sentry

The clearest difference is rating: Yale Access at 4.9 against Wynd Sentry's 4.1. Yale Access also leads on ratings volume (76K vs 23). Wynd Sentry's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Yale Access holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yale Access has 76K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Yale Access's written reviews are positive against 62% of Wynd Sentry's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yale Access ships an update fortnightly, Wynd Sentry every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
