# Impulse vs IQ Test

Impulse and IQ Test both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 70% of Impulse's written reviews are positive against 38% of IQ Test's. Impulse also leads on ratings volume (852K vs 2K) and chart position (#14 vs unranked). IQ Test's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Impulse sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and IQ Test sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Impulse against 4.6 for IQ Test. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Impulse has 852K ratings behind it against 2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of Impulse's written reviews are positive against 38% of IQ Test's.

Impulse ships an update weekly, IQ Test every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
