# Hidden Journey vs Big City

The clearest difference is ads: Big City at none against Hidden Journey's shown. Big City also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Hidden Journey's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (26K vs 1.6K). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hidden Journey sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Big City sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Hidden Journey against 4.5 for Big City. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hidden Journey has 26K ratings behind it against 1.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 52% of Hidden Journey's written reviews are positive against 46% of Big City's.

Hidden Journey ships an update every 3 months, Big City every 9 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
