# Wordpics! vs xWord Stacks

The clearest difference is rating: Wordpics! at 4.8 against xWord Stacks's 3.0. Wordpics! also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 10 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wordpics! sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and xWord Stacks sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wordpics! holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wordpics! has 40 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Wordpics! ships an update every 2 days, xWord Stacks every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
