# Bolt Food vs Himalayan Java

The clearest difference is rating: Bolt Food at 4.6 against Himalayan Java's 2.8. Bolt Food also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (9.7K vs 11). Himalayan Java's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bolt Food holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bolt Food has 9.7K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Bolt Food's written reviews are positive against 13% of Himalayan Java's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bolt Food ships an update fortnightly, Himalayan Java every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
