# HotLunch.com School Software vs Meson

The clearest difference is rating: HotLunch.com School Software at 4.4 against Meson's 1.9. HotLunch.com School Software also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (7K vs 45). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HotLunch.com School Software holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HotLunch.com School Software has 7K ratings behind it against 45, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of HotLunch.com School Software's written reviews are positive against 15% of Meson's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HotLunch.com School Software ships an update monthly, Meson every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
