# Password Manager & Generator vs PassGuard

The clearest difference is monetization model: PassGuard at freemium against Password Manager & Generator's subscription. PassGuard also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (100% vs 82%). Password Manager & Generator's advantage is ratings volume (1.4K vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Password Manager & Generator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and PassGuard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.19 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PassGuard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Password Manager & Generator has 1.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Password Manager & Generator's written reviews are positive against 100% of PassGuard's.

Password Manager & Generator ships an update fortnightly, PassGuard every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
