# GolfNow Compete vs D3 Golf

The clearest difference is rating: GolfNow Compete at 4.7 against D3 Golf's 3.8. GolfNow Compete also leads on ratings volume (5.6K vs 16) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). D3 Golf's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GolfNow Compete holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GolfNow Compete has 5.6K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of GolfNow Compete's written reviews are positive against 60% of D3 Golf's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GolfNow Compete ships an update every 5 weeks, D3 Golf every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
