# EXTRA Driver vs Mercury HQ

The clearest difference is monetization model: Mercury HQ at free against EXTRA Driver's subscription. Mercury HQ also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mercury HQ holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 77 and 56 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of EXTRA Driver's written reviews are positive against 18% of Mercury HQ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EXTRA Driver ships an update monthly, Mercury HQ every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
