# Sneaker Threads vs UP NYC

The clearest difference is review sentiment: UP NYC at 74% against Sneaker Threads's 27%. UP NYC also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Sneaker Threads's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

UP NYC holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UP NYC has 3.9K ratings behind it against 489, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 27% of Sneaker Threads's written reviews are positive against 74% of UP NYC's.

Sneaker Threads ships an update every 3 weeks, UP NYC every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
