# Tinkle Comics vs BookStates

The clearest difference is rating: Tinkle Comics at 4.6 against BookStates's 3.0. Tinkle Comics also leads on ratings volume (81 vs 2). BookStates's advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 59%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tinkle Comics sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per 3 months and BookStates sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tinkle Comics holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tinkle Comics has 81 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Tinkle Comics's written reviews are positive against 89% of BookStates's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tinkle Comics ships an update every 3 months, BookStates every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
