# EC Play vs IPTV Smart Player

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EC Play at none against IPTV Smart Player's 2. EC Play also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). IPTV Smart Player's advantage is ratings volume (26K vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IPTV Smart Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. EC Play asks for nothing beyond the download.

EC Play holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IPTV Smart Player has 26K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of EC Play's written reviews are positive against 48% of IPTV Smart Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EC Play ships an update every 3 months, IPTV Smart Player monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
