# Mimecast Security Agent vs Echo

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mimecast Security Agent at none against Echo's 9. Mimecast Security Agent also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Echo's advantage is ratings volume (3.8K vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Echo sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Mimecast Security Agent asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mimecast Security Agent holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Echo has 3.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mimecast Security Agent ships an update every 3 months, Echo every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
