# Grokio Communities vs BARQ!

The clearest difference is rating: Grokio Communities at 4.4 against BARQ!'s 2.9. Grokio Communities also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks) and ratings volume (3.7K vs 324). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grokio Communities sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and BARQ! sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Grokio Communities holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grokio Communities has 3.7K ratings behind it against 324, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Grokio Communities's written reviews are positive against 33% of BARQ!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grokio Communities ships an update weekly, BARQ! every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
