# Birthday Countdown vs Kounts

The clearest difference is ads: Kounts at none against Birthday Countdown's shown. Kounts also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Birthday Countdown's advantage is ratings volume (7.9K vs 8) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Birthday Countdown sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Kounts sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kounts holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Birthday Countdown has 7.9K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Birthday Countdown's written reviews are positive against 100% of Kounts's.

Birthday Countdown ships an update weekly, Kounts every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
