# AA 12 Step Toolkit vs Chatspire

The clearest difference is monetization model: Chatspire at free with in-app purchases against AA 12 Step Toolkit's subscription. Chatspire also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 63%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). AA 12 Step Toolkit's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (3.6K vs 2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AA 12 Step Toolkit sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days and Chatspire sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chatspire holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AA 12 Step Toolkit has 3.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of AA 12 Step Toolkit's written reviews are positive against 100% of Chatspire's.

AA 12 Step Toolkit ships an update every 2 months, Chatspire every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
