# YouSound vs Liminal Generator

The clearest difference is update cadence: Liminal Generator at every 2 days against YouSound's every 3 weeks. YouSound's advantage is ratings volume (83 vs 2) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YouSound sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $15.99 per month and Liminal Generator sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for YouSound against 5.0 for Liminal Generator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YouSound has 83 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

YouSound ships an update every 3 weeks, Liminal Generator every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
