# Altec Smart 2 vs Cam&Cam

The clearest difference is rating: Altec Smart 2 at 4.5 against Cam&Cam's 3.6. Altec Smart 2 also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ratings volume (442 vs 88). Cam&Cam's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (42% vs 20%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cam&Cam sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Altec Smart 2 asks for nothing beyond the download.

Altec Smart 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Altec Smart 2 has 442 ratings behind it against 88, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Altec Smart 2's written reviews are positive against 42% of Cam&Cam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Altec Smart 2 ships an update every 5 months, Cam&Cam every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
