# Dotsee vs ThriftWise

Dotsee and ThriftWise both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dotsee's written reviews are positive against 67% of ThriftWise's. Dotsee also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.4). ThriftWise's advantage is ratings volume (362 vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dotsee sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and ThriftWise sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Dotsee against 4.7 for ThriftWise. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThriftWise has 362 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Dotsee's written reviews are positive against 67% of ThriftWise's.

Dotsee ships an update every 4 days, ThriftWise every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
