# Grove Collaborative vs NB Shopping

The clearest difference is monetization model: NB Shopping at free against Grove Collaborative's free with in-app purchases. NB Shopping also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Grove Collaborative's advantage is ratings volume (30K vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Grove Collaborative against 5.0 for NB Shopping. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grove Collaborative has 30K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Grove Collaborative ships an update fortnightly, NB Shopping every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
