# OVPlayer vs MX Player

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OVPlayer at 100% against MX Player's 34%. MX Player's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OVPlayer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MX Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
