# Ground School vs Pilot Exams

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Ground School at none against Pilot Exams's 1. Ground School also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 18.0). Pilot Exams's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pilot Exams sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Ground School asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ground School ships an update every 2 months, Pilot Exams every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
