# Windowpane vs Project X

The clearest difference is update cadence: Project X at every 5 days against Windowpane's fortnightly. Windowpane's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Windowpane sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Project X sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Windowpane against 5.0 for Project X. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Windowpane has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Windowpane ships an update fortnightly, Project X every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
