# Toothbrush Timer vs Hygiene Helper

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Hygiene Helper at none against Toothbrush Timer's 7. Hygiene Helper also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 26.0). Toothbrush Timer's advantage is ratings volume (589 vs 4). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Toothbrush Timer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Hygiene Helper asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hygiene Helper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Toothbrush Timer has 589 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Toothbrush Timer's written reviews are positive against 67% of Hygiene Helper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
