# Typepad Editor vs EZText

The clearest difference is rating: Typepad Editor at 5.0 against EZText's 4.2. Typepad Editor also leads on iOS requirement (17.6 vs 27.0). EZText's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 13 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Typepad Editor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EZText has 30 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Typepad Editor ships an update every 13 months, EZText every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
