# Transcom Buddy vs Office Word

The clearest difference is rating: Office Word at 4.6 against Transcom Buddy's 2.2. Office Word also leads on ratings volume (9.7K vs 5) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Transcom Buddy's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and review sentiment (44% vs 35%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Office Word sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Transcom Buddy asks for nothing beyond the download.

Office Word holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Office Word has 9.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Transcom Buddy's written reviews are positive against 35% of Office Word's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Transcom Buddy ships an update every 3 months, Office Word every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
