# HabitGoal vs GiveInstead

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GiveInstead at none against HabitGoal's 1. HabitGoal's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HabitGoal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. GiveInstead asks for nothing beyond the download.

HabitGoal ships an update fortnightly, GiveInstead every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and June 6, 2026 respectively.
