# Swann Security vs Slingshot

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Slingshot at none against Swann Security's 11. Slingshot also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Swann Security's advantage is ratings volume (80K vs 1) and review sentiment (26% vs 9%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Swann Security sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Slingshot asks for nothing beyond the download.

Slingshot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Swann Security has 80K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Swann Security's written reviews are positive against 9% of Slingshot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
