# Parallel vs rel app

The clearest difference is ads: rel app at none against Parallel's shown. rel app also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Parallel's advantage is ratings volume (1.9K vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

rel app holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parallel has 1.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
