# Monte+ vs Stix

The clearest difference is monetization model: Monte+ at free against Stix's free with in-app purchases. Monte+ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Stix's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (93 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Monte+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stix has 93 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Monte+ ships an update every 8 months, Stix every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
