# Word Calm vs SUM

The clearest difference is ads: SUM at none against Word Calm's shown. SUM also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly). Word Calm's advantage is chart position (#120 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Calm sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and SUM sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Calm ships an update monthly, SUM every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
