# Verizon Protect vs ConnectAssured

The clearest difference is monetization model: ConnectAssured at free against Verizon Protect's free with in-app purchases. ConnectAssured also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and device support (4 vs 2). Verizon Protect's advantage is ratings volume (46K vs 1) and chart position (#100 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ConnectAssured holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verizon Protect has 46K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Verizon Protect ships an update every 3 weeks, ConnectAssured monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
